Danse l’Afrique, danse ! A movie premiere in Johannesburg

Sunday, October 7th, 11.00 A.M. – Dance Factory

The film, shot during the 8th Biennale of contemporary dance held in Bamako (Mali), offers a panorama of contemporary dance in Africa. Through it, we discover strange, diverse, inventive and surprising worlds.  African choreographers explore their own emotions, reflections, memory and imagination, delivering to us their personal cartography of the continent and the world today. They confirm the emergence of African choreography of extreme vitality. We discover an Africa which is standing up, proffering liberated words, where the intimate joins the universal.
